TFT Newsletter Archive - July 2006 Lord Coe Joins TFT The Finishing Touch has signed an agreement with The Complete Leisure Group PLC to form a Limited Liability Partnership called Sports Events LLP. Chairman for The Complete Leisure Group is Lord Coe. Under the agreement, the newly formed Sports Events LLP will be jointly owned between the two companies. The business will be focused on generating event management related revenues. The Finishing Touch will be the executive supplier of event management services for a series of targeted events and a preferred supplier for all others. Jon Smith, CEO of First Artist Corporation PLC, commented: “We are delighted to be working alongside The Complete Leisure Group - it represents an exciting opportunity. We see the venture benefiting our business at two levels. Firstly, it will introduce revenues directly into The Finishing Touch, who have organised and ran over 300 events for the private and public sector organisations for the past 12 months. Secondly, it forms part of the First Artist’s ongoing strategy to broaden its base into the wider sports-related events market.” Finishing First The Finishing Touch have now been part of the First Artist Group of Companies for nearly a year, during which time they have moved into new offices at Wembley and expanded the of services that they offer to an ever increasing list of clients. Mel Atkins, Managing Director of The Finishing Touch identifies the areas where First Artist has helped TFT to grow their business. “Being part of a PLC with Offices in Europe, America and the Middle East has opened many doors to new opportunities. We have also been able to extend our service offering and take on larger projects that would not have been possible in the past. Our aim is to continue to develop and expand the business both in the UK and overseas,” First Artist has recently acquired two further businesses, NCI Management Ltd - one of the UK’s leading entertainment and personality management agencies - and Proactive Scandinavia A/S, an established Football Agency based in Copenhagen. Summer at Hogwarts A busy summer of parties and events culminated in a spectacular Summer Ball at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland. Famously known as Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films, Alnwick Castle was hired by The Finishing Touch for a client to stage a celebration Ball. Guests were able to view the spectacular State Rooms, before enjoying drinks on the ‘Flying Field’ where Harry Potter first took his broomstick. Dinner and entertainment were then staged in a stunning clear fronted Marquee structure allowing guests dramatic views of the Castle. Studio 54 This 5,500 square metre venue in Battersea Park has a clear floor space complete with a mezzanine bar and a specification of lighting and crystal clear sound second to none. The end result is a themed Christmas venue that will raise every hair on the back of your neck...Vivid lighting that mesmerises, crystal clear broadcast sound that captivates and spectacular “Studio 54” theming including flown caged dancers and an under lit dance floor will leave you in no doubt that you are in London’s most exciting, engaging and outrageous venue. Head Start Team Events Another busy Summer for TFT’s Team Events division delivering events throughout the UK and Europe. A highlight of these was the first ever 11-a-side Human Table Football game that was staged towards the end of the World Cup Finals. Having designed and delivered the world’s first ever Human Table Football Game in 1993, this was yet another first for Head Start. |
