TFT is announced as a finalist in the Eventia UK Awards 2008

We are delighted to announce the Debenhams November 2007 event organised by The Finishing Touch has been voted as a finalist in the ‘Best New Event’ category at the Eventia UK awards 2008!

 This unique bespoke event was held to celebrate the launch of Debenhams Spring/Summer 08 collection and followed the theme of ‘clean, neat and open’ spaces. Only a stones throw from Oxford Circus, the immaculately kept private Portman Square Gardens was used as our centrally located blank canvas and a number of interconnecting marquee structures featuring a clear Perspex roof were installed. The natural lighting, beautiful open gardens, and the structure itself created the impressive ambience needed to generate a buzz around the alluring new spring/summer collection.

The two day event got underway with VIP guests enjoying an elegant champagne cocktail reception, a presentation from the CEO, and a preview of the new fresh collection. The glamorous evening space was then transformed into a sophisticated daytime showcase event complete with shop fittings and storage. 

Following the event Debenhams saw a 17% increase in positive media coverage making it a huge success!  The Finishing Touch’s excellent management skills and careful consideration of the location itself was recognised by the client; Senior Press Officer for Debenhams, Caroline Adams, said: “The Finishing Touch were an integral part in making the event a huge success, they understood the brief, came up with something truly unique and executed the event with all the necessary detail.”

The winner will be announced on the 21st November 2008 at a prestigious dinner held at The Troxy in London – wish us luck!

Fun, games and piggyback rides at Walton Hall

Remember the TV show The Crystal Maze?  The Finishing Touch recently organised a team building day with activities based around this popular 90’s game show.  The event was held in Walton Hall; set in 65 acres of beautiful English countryside, the vast manicured lawns made this the perfect location for guests to enjoy the great outdoors.

The challenging activities, which were in the mental, skill and physical zones, saw the team members working together strategically.  The day proved to be rewarding and collaborative but most importantly everybody had a good time; including our very own David Taylor (Event Manager), who proved that event management dedication is without bounds by giving piggybacks to guests!

In the evening the group reconvened to be entertained with stories from the day whilst enjoying a sumptuous private dinner in the Mordaunt Restaurant.
